Pastries’s Weblog

I tend to be a social butterfly. I get invited to a ton of events, anything from house parties, cocktail parties, dinners, and showers. I like to be a good guest and bring something to every event that I go to. Generally I bring a bottle of wine, but in some cases I’ll bring a dessert. So since I was going to a cocktail party it was requested we do not bring alcohol of any sort. Not a problem, I just jumped online and started browsing Davidscookies.com. I felt that bring just a tin of cookies was a little plain for this event so I was looking for something a little fancier. I came across their cookies cakes. There was a nice selection of Deep Dish Cookie pies ranging in flavor from Chocolate Chip (a delicious cookie with huge chunks of chocolate topped with mini Hershey’s kisses and chocolate ganache) to Smores (marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate syrup tops this masterpiece) to Reese’s Peanut Butter (real Reese’s peanut butter cups, Reese’s  chips and chocolate syrup are the stars of this deep dish cookie) to Brownie (a deep dish brownie topped with mini vanilla and chocolate Hershey’s kisses and drizzeled with rich chocolate ganache). There was a little something to please everyone. I made the decision to but all four flavors because I wanted to make sure there was something to accommodate everyone. Okay, honestly, because I wanted to try them all, but either way that is exactly what I did.  The night of the party I brought my dessert and the host added all four cakes to the dessert table. Now there was a ton of desserts but none the caliber of mine. Pastries, truffles, cakes, and unique candies flooded the table, but my deep dish cookie pies stood out from them all. Decadent thick cookies topped with a variety of different sensuous morsels of deliciousness made each one hard to resist. By the end of the night all four cakes were history and everyone was hooked. I informed them of where I purchased these sweet treats and have a feeling David’s Cookies got a lot of orders the next couple days.
