Pastries’s Weblog

butterscotch pecan cookiesThe other night when it was –12 degrees I was walking home from the store because it was too cold for my 1994 Geo Prism to turn on. I had bought ingredients to make some of my favorite Butterscotch Pecan cookies, a recipe handed down from my grandmother. Well, you can imagine how I felt when I got home to find my gas oven was not working. As a working student I don’t have the money to buy a new stove. So that night as I dreamt about the taste of cookies in my mouth I was awoken from a brilliant thought. David’s Cookies! I always buy their amazing brownies and rich cakes online, but never bought cookies because I’ve had my own recipe. Well, I ordered the cookies and when they arrived two days later I almost lost all my senses to how perfect these cookies were. The crunchy pecans in the buttery goodness of the cookies were to die for. They were so good I ate three in one sitting, not an easy job due to the large size of each cookie. Needless to say I’ll never need my recipe again now that I’ve been blessed be the greatness that is David’s Cookies.
